Not much of a castle left...There was the 14 th century Lynch castle, but the few leftovers were turned into a bank :) Legend says Lynch was the Galway mayor who performed his own son's death punishment. The boy was charged of murder and there was nobody willing to act as hangman. Sad...You can photograph the Lynch Memorial Window, highlighting the spot of the horrifying deed.
