charb's question:
What are the times when conservative Galway becomes more lively? when festivals thrive, I guess.....(give a different answer) .
Galway is "the most Irish from all Irish cities", with a young beat due to the local university, and the unofficial capital of arts. It becomes more active in September, on the occasion of Galway International Oyster festival, when locals also vote for an "Oyster Pearl" beauty queen. For 4 days, you'll only eat oysters and at 20$ for a dozen, it's convenient. Late July brings Galway Arts Festival and August the Galway races.
